Need help with a down payment on a house

We were trying to buy a different house and got the major run around for almost 2 months form a broker we were using. We had some savings but after incurring some fees, and paying for an appraisal on the last house we're short on the amount of down payment we have at our disposal. We live in an area that rent just keeps going up and trying to find a place that will allow us to rent with our two dogs is almost impossible because of high rent. If we can get this house we'll be paying less then half of what we pay for rent right now and a home for our dogs! Our dogs are family and I refuse to give them up! Any dog lover would understand.
